PeerBloom Support
Frequently asked questions
Short answers to the things people ask first.
Do I need a diagnosis to use PeerBloom Support?
No. If you identify as autistic, you are welcome. We never ask for documents.
How can we communicate?
Video, phone, text or email. Camera off, chat only, or switching mid-session are all fine.
What adjustments can I ask for?
Shorter sessions, breaks, written summaries, an agenda in advance, no small talk. Anything that helps, no explanation needed.
Is what I say confidential?
Yes. The only exception is a serious risk to your safety or someone else's, which we would talk to you about first. We keep brief notes agreed with you, not clinical records.
What if I need to cancel or move a session?
Give 24 hours' notice and there is no charge. Later cancellations may be charged, except in emergencies.
Is peer support the right thing for me?
It suits people who want practical help with everyday life, connection, self-advocacy or goals. It is not therapy, diagnosis or crisis support. If you need those, we will help you find them.
What should I do in a crisis?
PeerBloom is not an emergency service. If you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency number. For urgent support, contact a crisis line in your country.
Can a family member or support worker get in touch for me?
Yes. Before anything starts we check with you directly, and your preferences decide.
